*Water for Weight Loss and Health*
What is the importance of water in fast weight loss? Actually, more than what most people take heed to.
We have all probably heard more than once about the importance of drinking enough water with a weight loss program. But, even though we have heard it a lot, and probably say to ourselves that we will apply that strategy, we end up not following through with it.
This is very very unfortunate because the importance of drinking enough water is huge. Water is very important for many functions of the body. But since we are talking about losing weight; Drinking enough of it is a huge factor in the process of metabolizing and removing stored fat. Plainly stated, it will cause you to burn more fat. And that is what you are looking to accomplish; Right?
So how much should you drink?
The answer to that seems to fluctuate a little with nutritionists, and can rely on many factors. It can also be dependent on the amount of extra weight a person has on their body. Many suggest that you can do calculations based on how overweight you are to determine the correct amount. I am not going to go into that, but I will give you a ballpark figure. It is the opinion of many, that drinking 80oz a day is a good target.
That is 8-10oz cups of water a day. Now it is said that consuming coffee, tea, soda, and even alcohol will deplete your bodies water supply. On the other hand, it is said that eating certain foods such as fruits and vegetables will add water to your system and the need to drink as much is reduced. Heck, you will probably burn off a fair amount of calories just doing the math to figure out what is the exact, right amount to consume in a day.
Some people get into the numbers, as far as weight loss is concerned, but I keep it to a minimum. Ballpark figures work better for me. So I will tell you a short, but sweet, story of using water for weight loss.
A very good friend of mine had to prepare for a Bariatric surgery ( shrinking his stomach ) by, first losing 20lbs. The Surgeon required this of him in order to clear some fat away from his liver. Now keep in mind that the Surgeon is an expert in the area of weight loss. This was a surgery to fix a problem with obesity.
What did the doctor prescribe as the method to lose this 20lbs?
You guessed it. Drinking a lot of water. How much? 100oz a day. My friend, bless his heart, lost the weight in 30 days. Now, this is an individual who was getting a surgery in order to save his life, just because he could not lose the weight to save himself.
There are many health problems associated with being overweight. What`s my point? Add the right amount of water to your regiment and lose the weight.
My friend had developed Diabetes from gaining all the weight that he did over the years. Without me explaining the physiological reasons of why? Just know that drinking the right amount of water will increase the amount of fat that you are able to burn.
Also keep in mind that drinking too much water can also create certain complications. What the surgeon prescribed to my friend as the amount to drink, was calculated. The doctor did do the math to determine what was the right amount.
I am not qualified to give a correct amount to drink. I can only say that for the average adult, 64 to 80oz a day is the amount that is recommended by nutritionists.--To YOUR HEALTH
